The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), Mr. Adeleye Falade, has pledged to strengthen the company’s partnership with Coleman Technical Industries Limited, particularly in local content development and the expansion of Nigerian manufacturing capacity.
Falade made the commitment during a tour of Coleman’s manufacturing facilities in Sagamu and Arepo, Ogun State, where he expressed admiration for the company’s scale of operations, investment in modern machinery and equipment, and the professionalism of its workforce.
Describing the facilities as “mind-blowing,” Falade said the visit demonstrated what Nigerian businesses could achieve through sustained investment, innovation and commitment to excellence.
He noted that NLNG already had a business relationship with Coleman, adding that there was significant potential to expand the partnership beyond 2027.
“We’re already in partnership. That partnership will only expand. There is scope; there is opportunity,” he said.
Falade said NLNG was exploring opportunities to connect capable Nigerian manufacturers with international projects, including the construction of vessels for the company.
He stressed that Nigerian-made products could compete successfully in global markets when they meet international standards and deliver quality and value.
“I’m not sure I was prepared for what I saw. I mean, that’s the honest truth. I’d seen a few of Coleman’s events, and I knew that something remarkable was going on, but I don’t think any of that prepared me for what I saw,” he said.
The NLNG CEO reaffirmed the company’s commitment to initiatives that strengthen Nigerian businesses, create employment and deepen local industrial capacity.
He described Coleman’s facilities as a source of pride for Nigeria, saying the company had demonstrated world-class operational standards and significant local manufacturing capability.
Falade also commended Coleman’s leadership, particularly its Managing Director and CEO, George Onafowokan, and Executive Director, Michael Onafowokan, for building a business with the characteristics of a world-class organisation.
Responding, Onafowokan described the visit as an endorsement of the longstanding relationship between NLNG and Coleman and NLNG’s commitment to local content development.
He said Coleman had benefited from NLNG’s local content initiatives, including its participation in major projects such as Train 7.
According to Onafowokan, Coleman’s transformation from a family-owned business into a multinational and generational company was driven by its belief in Nigerian talent and capacity.
He described the company’s journey as “the Nigerian story”—a demonstration that Nigerian businesses can manufacture world-class products and operate world-class facilities locally.
Onafowokan thanked Falade for the visit, saying the positive feedback would encourage Coleman to continue investing in its people, facilities and capabilities as it contributes to Nigeria’s industrial development.
